Setting Out Engineering
We are lucky enough to benefit from our own in house total station and GPS setting out systems, with this technology we are able to view drawings on auto cad and transfer their information with exact precision to site.
Ground Bearing Slabs
A ground bearing slab is a concrete slab that is poured within the walls of a structure. Concrete is usually 150mm thick with reinforcing mesh to suit ground conditions. Laid on compacted sub-base allowing for a damp proof membrane. Applications of this type are normally constructed in good level ground conditions.
Beam And Block Floors
Suspended concrete floor construction is increasingly the most common flooring system specified in residential construction. The suspended floor does not rely on support from the ground below but instead is supported by the external walls, and therefore the foundations below.
Raft Foundations
A raft foundation is a reinforced concrete slab under the whole of a building or extension, 'floating' on the ground as a raft floats on water. This type of foundation spreads the load of the building over a larger area than other foundations, lowering the pressure on the ground.
Underpinning
Underpinning is a method of works that transfers the load of a worn out inadequate foundation and transfers the loads to a newly constructed foundation underneath. The new foundation takes into account the possible change in ground conditions for many years to come.

Rainwater Drainage Including Land Drainage Installations
We have carried out numerous rain and surface water drainage projects, always tailoring the specification to meet the needs of the ground conditions. These include ditching, French drains, soakaways, rainwater harvesting tanks and even permanent pumping solutions.

Due to being based in the southern county’s we have carried out a lot of work on polo and race horse studs so we understand the demand for perfection when it comes to all equestrian needs.
Traditional Strip Foundations
This approach is favoured when ground conditions are good. A trench is excavated and filled with concrete providing a sound foundation for the rest of the structure to be built on. Depths and widths can vary but in most cases a depth of at least 1m and a width of 600mm wide is normally adequate.
